Why Radio Works Fort Portal and Beyond

Many communities across Uganda do not have regular access to internet, television, or large-scale Christian gatherings. Radio remains one of the most accessible, consistent ways to reach hearts and homes with the message of Christ.

The reach, affordability, and familiarity of radio makes it ICIC’s most effective tool for sharing hope, inviting new participants, and building communion.

  • ICIC was the door for my salvation. In fact, it came for me. I started by hearing about it over the radio. They would preach and invite people for conferences and weekend programs. I first went alone for a couple’s weekend and fortunately I was accepted despite going alone. While I was at the couples’ weekend they taught about the ten commandments of marriage. I realized I was breaking all of them and marriage was miserable. It was filled with hatred and resentment. I requested the teacher to redo the talk for me and my wife the next time. We visited him and he taught us. Our marriage was healed. Now we are a happy couple. Thank you, brothers and sisters, for sponsoring these programs. – Godfrey

  • My name is Joseph, a beneficiary of ICIC. This is to thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting ICIC in Uganda. I was a Catholic from childhood but Jesus was not my personal savior. I was in illicit marriage for thirteen years and I did not mind. Sin had separated me from God and my family was full of fighting and quarreling. My wife and I attend Marriage and Family Renewal Programs of ICIC and now we are teachers of couples.

  • We want to recognize that ICIC has brought peace and harmony in our homes and this has reduced the burden on Government in settling domestic violence. Through evangelization by ICIC, crime rate in our society has drastically reduced.

Why This Ministry Matters

Many of the families ICIC serves face deep relational wounds, economic pressure, or spiritual disconnection. These retreats provide a sacred space for couples to pause, reconnect, and rebuild.

By strengthening marriages, ICIC helps strengthen the wider community. Families become more resilient, parenting improves, and children grow up in homes filled with love and faith.
